BULK INK DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM (BIDS)

The Bulk Ink Distribution System (BIDS) for the TIJ Z4 printer is the optimal solution for high ink consumption applications, where higher print quality, low printing cost and minimal user intervention are required.
The system consists of a high-capacity tank with 400ml Bulk cartrdige and TIJ refillable cartridges to ensure printing continuity.

The system can manage up to 4 refillable cartridges, recognize the minimum ink level of each cartridge and fill them automatically without interrupting the printing operation.

BULK CARTRIDGE

The ink exchange rate is drastically reduced, as soon as the 400ml Bulk cartridge is inserted into the distribution system, the ink is detected and automatically dispensed to the refillable cartridges, for uninterrupted production.

REFILLABLE CARTRIDGE

The refillable cartridges are equipped with SmartCard technology with RS232 interface, which keeps them in constant communication with the BIDS system. When the minimum ink level inside the cartridge is reached, a Bulk valve opens and fills it automatically, without interrupting printing. The built-in fill level sensor prevents cartridge overfilling.

Each refillable cartridge has a 35 ml capacity and can process a total ink volume of approximately 1,200 ml, equal to 3 entire Bulk cartridges, maintaining precise and clean coding.

Automated management

Thanks to the SmartCard technology used, the current ink type is recognized, the ink level is monitored, the cartridge is filled automatically when required, the optimal parameters are set, any faults are detected and consumption is calculated.

Printing without interruptions

Resources are used in the best way possible, repetitive actions and time-wasting operations are limited, the production line can count on the constant presence of a reserve of consumables and the absence of interruptions in the production cycle. This means savings of up to 50%.

Eco-friendly

The system and the refillable cartridges have been developed in an “eco-friendly” manner, in order to minimize their environmental impact. The cartridges can be refilled up to about 34 times before they need to be replaced, offering the possibility to reuse the plastic material and reduce environmentally harmful waste.

APPLICATIONS

The wide range of high-contrast solvent-based, pigmented, non-pigmented and food-grade inks, available in various colours in smart ink cartridges, makes the Z4 coding solution, in the BIDS version, suitable for the most varied materials, both with porous and non-porous surfaces.
