Packaging, considered essential in the cosmetics sector, preserves the product and helps to convey the brand identity by using materials and colours that appeal to consumers, stimulate curiosity and lead to a purchase. Today, the cosmetic industry must combine the visual aspect with demands for sustainability, a constantly growing trend, which encourages companies to pay attention to environmental aspects in product and packaging design. Containers, dispensers or primary packaging are increasingly made of recyclable material or are designed to be reused.
The variety of packages, the need for brand recognition and new materials with reduced environmental impact require coding with high quality standards, to give consumers the possibility to access product traceability information, at all stages along the entire supply chain.
Zanasi’s Research & Development department is constantly involved in research to find new innovative coding solutions to improve efficiency and productivity, and to ensure:
- the durability of the coding on the various substrates through special inks, with particular focus on sustainability
- a clear and visible marking, in the best position and in keeping with the visual appeal of the packaging, which is particularly important for the sector
- complete coding of variable data, batches, barcodes and regulatory information easily obtained through a user interface that simplifies the creation of messages
- reduction of maintenance and system management costs to avoid affecting product costs.
