Z408 Pi

The Z408PI is a large character system designed for industrial coding using high-strength pigmented inks. Thanks to the NZ 2.0 HE printheads and the hydraulic system with continuous mixing, it guarantees high-contrast, perfectly legible and permanent markings, even on dark, non-absorbent and large surfaces.

The system can control up to 2 NZ 2.0 HE printheads with 7, 16 or 32 dots, offering versatile configurations suitable for heavy industry production lines, with a print height of up to 139.5 mm.

The sturdy and compact stainless steel cabinet incorporates a dedicated internal ventilation system that maintains a stable temperature for the electronic modules and hydraulic system during intensive production cycles. The high IP rating provides an effective barrier against dust, water, humidity and thermal shocks, protecting components from contamination and premature wear. This design makes the Z408PI ideal for operation in harsh environments such as steelworks, cement works, plastic extrusion plants and the automotive sector, ensuring system stability and reliable performance even under the most demanding conditions.

The hydraulic system, featuring continuous and automatic ink mixing, keeps the pigment constantly in motion thanks to a dedicated agitator and a high-performance recirculation pump. This constant agitation prevents the pigment from settling and stops the build-up of deposits that could cause blockages, ensuring a stable flow and uniform marking even during prolonged production runs. The robust design and optimised ink handling ensure smooth printing processes, reduced line downtime and reliable performance in the most demanding heavy industry applications.

The system is controlled by a special version of the Orkestra software and specific connection cables, which allow to drive the hydraulic system and the NZP printheads. The large 10,1” colour touch screen makes it easy to create messages, enter data, select and monitor printing processes.

Robust. Reliable. Repairable: NZ 2.0 Printheads

The Z408 system is now compatible with NZ 2.0 printheads — the latest generation of DOD printheads, which are designed to provide robustness, reliability and operational continuity, even in the most challenging conditions.
Available in Standard (S) and Harsh Environment (HE) versions, the printheads offer a reinforced structure and greater resistance to dust, humidity, solvents and vibrations. They also provide consistent print quality, even at high frequencies.

The NZ 2.0 is available in 7, 16, and 32point variants with 120 μm o 200 μm nozzles for a precise print height of up to 139.5 mm. Free rotation of the head simplifies in-line integration and 2D code printing, and the modular design, in line with ZANASI’s 3R philosophy, reduces downtime and optimises operating costs.

The NZP printheads guarantee permanent and perfectly readable prints on dark non-absorbent surfaces, using special pigmented inks. They can print high-contrast alphanumeric texts and logos with a maximum height of 120 mm on surfaces, even irregular, curved or uneven of extruded, automotive and steel products.

APPLICATIONS

The fast-drying, high-adhesion Zanasi pigmented inks, available in white and yellow, allow Z408 Pi to produce durable prints, with high contrast and readability, on industrial products with a generally non-porous and dark surface, such as metal pipes, plates and beams, plastic tubes and bars and rubber products.
